GMC is One of the Longest-Lasting Brands, According to iSeeCars Study

GMC is a rewarding option to go with if you’re car shopping and are looking for a brand with a reputation for durability. According to a recent iSeeCars study, GMC is one of the longest-lasting brands.

To compile its list, iSeeCars evaluated more than 15.8 million vehicles to see which brands and models consistently met or surpassed the 200,000-mile mark. GMC placed third in the study, with 1.4 percent of all GMC models achieving 200,000 miles or more on the odometer.

The GMC Yukon and Yukon XL models placed on the Top 15 Longest-Lasting Cars ranking. 3.2 percent of Yukon models went over 200,000 miles, while 4.1 percent of Yukon XL models did so. Phong Ly, CEO of iSeeCars, commented on these model’s American-made reputation, saying it “[helped] contribute to their above-average ranking on this list.”

Granted, a vehicle’s shelf life isn’t based on the brand’s reputation alone. Regular maintenance is key to getting 200,000 miles or more out of your ride. But committing to a GMC model definitely gives you a head start to achieving this goal.
